The lady serving us was excellent and it was super to see the chef coming out and greeting people and ensuring they are enjoying their meals. 10/10. We live an hour away but we’ll be back!!! ”
“ The food at Jashir was superb; flavours, spicy, lovely meat, side dishes all were of the highest quality we have tasted before. The atmosphere was lively but not too loud and the tables a decent distance apart that whilst you could hear other people they did not interfere with your conversation or evening. The staff were attentive and always watching in case you needed something, very friendly but not intrusive. They were very knowledgeable about the food and wine; which meant we had excellent wine rarely seen in any restaurant. Excellent customer service is not only how you treat your customers in the first place but how you rectify the mistakes if there are any. There was one minor blip in the evening but it is obvious that Jashir pays a lot of attention to training staff well in those types of situations. They could not have done it better. Jashir offers superb food, wine and customer service and I would be back at least once a week if I lived in Oakham. ”

“ Wow! What an amazing experience Having Pani Puri again after years of missing India was incredible. Very lovely owner and staff, fun and generous. I would have given 5 if it wasn't for some minor things that kept me from it. The level of noise was very high in the restaurant, maybe louder guests than normally? Some of the dishes were very different from original Indian recipes, having lived there for 2 years I dare to say so. It was all really good however, just extremely red coloured dishes that I have never seen/tasted there. My English friends told me that it's the way it looks in all Indian restaurants here so I am probably pickier than other guests (sorry) The most incredible surprise was opening up our "doggie bag" PERFECTION!!! We only have 3 more days in this area but we might squeeze in another visit! Wine selection, not to be forgotten! Their own brand, which the owner let me taste very generously. Loved the rose! ”

For those curious we ordered: Butter chicken with pulao rice and garlic naan. Chicken makhni (mild spicy) - jeera cumin rice but its best with lemon rice. Honey chilli chicken with egg rice. REALLY SPICY - garlic chilli lamb. Starters Garlic butter prawns - really nicee. Mushroom spice - spicy but really nice. Drink: Lassi - mango ( nice and refreshing good after spicy food) and Cobra beer ”
